Legends of the Seeker work again for Maz, however after sitting around for 5 hours and waiting to play dead, she & a couple of others were wrapped before going on. So I guess we will try again next week.
Straight after finishing work (an hour early) Russell picked up Maz and they went to Ginger Minx (Russell was working). The dishwasher was out last night, which meant when the bar got slammed the glasses were stacking up hard. So Maz gave a hand and jumped in clearing a few tables.
Maz also has a willing model to be painted as the female version of the horimono that was painted on Chris for the body art awards.

CURRENT WEIRDNESS All that Maz has seen recently has been work & her bed...sad really
DAILY FOF MOMENT The dishwasher at the Ginger Minx broke, which meant all glasses had to be taken into the kitchen, washed and then brought back out. It added so much time to the job. Fail!!!

SIDESWIPPING IT... Dutch pranksters have dumped dozens of the tiny two-seater Smart Cars into Amsterdam's waterways and police fear the bizarre trend will spread to the UK and the rest of Europe. Eco-friendly Smart cars are small enough to be picked up by just a few people and dumped into the Dutch capital's canals, reports De Telegraaf newspaper. One victim, Casper de Jong, was woken by police after they found his Smart floating in the waterway outside his apartment. Mr de Jong said: "Several weeks ago the same thing happened to my companion's Smart. Both cars were a complete write-off." One Smart sales worker said: "We're not supposed to talk about this because the police don't want the craze to spread but we've had quite a few drowned cars returned to us."

CURRENT WEIRDNESS Maz has died four three times in three days...no wait four times in three days.
DAILY FOF MOMENT Doesn't look like that Maz will be back on Seeker unless its a call back. Fail!!!
Maz was on set again. Her call time was 7am and she made it just in time (the extras get bused out to location). Maz was significantly seen in one shot, which meant that she couldn't be used too much during the day after that...and she got to play a dead body again.

Deborah Karen Graham, 48, manager, was convicted of drink-driving when she appeared in Queenstown District Court yesterday, The Southland Times reported. Graham was randomly breathalysed on July 4 and blew 530mcg, 130mcg over the legal limit. She told police she had drunk three glasses of wine. Defence counsel Nicole Murphy told Judge Kevin Phillips Graham had been ill. "She had swine flu. She was just getting over it...and she thinks because she had the flu (the alcohol) may have hit her harder. "She is highly embarrassed and remorseful about her actions." But Judge Phillips commented: "Swine flu seems to be the 'in' submission for everything at the moment. I reject all that." Graham was fined $550 and disqualified from driving for six months.

Police spokeswoman Noreen Hegarty said this afternoon that he had been taken to hospital with gunshot wounds after the shooting at 1pm. The 36-year-old - believed to be actor Rob Mokoraka - is now in a stable condition at Auckland Hospital after he was shot. Rob Mokaraka's agent refused to speak about him tonight, telling the Herald they first had to speak to their client.
Aftershocks continue to jolt the Fiordland region following the massive quake two weeks ago. A 4.8 magnitude quake was recorded at 7.37am today, GNS Science reported. It was centred 100km west of Tuatapere, 87km west of Invercargill, and was 12km deep. A series of aftershocks have been shaking the region following the 7.8 magnitude earthquake on July 15. The tremor was the largest recorded in the world this year, but because of its remote location, caused very little damage.
Police are baffled by the discovery of several litres of blood in a central Hamilton street. Police said they were called to the "bloody mess" at Anglesea Street early on Saturday morning. The blood appeared to have been dropped from a plastic bag off the seventh floor of a nearby carpark building, police said today. They were investigating whether a man who walked past the scene carrying three stainless steel soap dispensers, similar to those used in public toilets, had anything to do with the blood.
Auckland Harbour Bridge has been left off a list of highway upgrades needed to cope with heavier trucks, despite a report last year warning of a need for further strengthening.
Parkour has hit the streets of central Auckland. Its agile players use concrete steps, park benches and even rubbish bins as gym equipment for their leaps, vaults, drops and somersaults. Parkour has sprung from the suburbs of Paris to a world-wide following glamorised by films of participants leaping from building to building. Less-dangerous but thrilling moves were executed by a score of youthful Aucklanders yesterday in a demonstration on the hard concrete structures of Aotea Square. "It's about trying to find your way around your environment using your body," said sixteen-year-old Levon Baird of Takapuna. "You can do it anywhere."
SIDESWIPPING IT... A quick romp in a bush during a storm ended when a bolt of lightning struck the ground nearby, making the earth really move for a love-making couple. The couple in western Germany had parked next to a busy motorway, progressing to the nearby bushes for more privacy. They stripped naked and were so carried away that they didn't stop - until a bolt of lightning struck the ground nearby. She wishes she didn't wake up though...Maz & Russell found out that James (person who was living here before them) hadn't signed papers to say he had moved out. Tina had told him to do it weeks ago. A website designed to look like the TV3 homepage has been uncovered as a creative ad to promote a new brand of party pills. Pill manufacturer Evolve Technologies created the fake website, www.3news.net.nz, featuring an almost identical layout to the broadcaster's site, including a "breaking news" video about the new drugs. TV3 confirmed its lawyers had issued the fake website's administrators with a cease and desist notice, forcing them to pull the site this week. It declined further comment on the site for fear of giving the manufacturer publicity. The "speedy" and "sensory" party pills were launched in Auckland this week and have a Facebook group dedicated to their promotion. Group administrators posted a message on the site on Tuesday expressing surprise that the fake TV3 website had not then been pulled down. It read: "Oh my! it looks as if we've had the 3news.net.nz site for over 24 hours now.

Dooms day (Body Art Awards) happened. Maz woke up late because she was up till about 4am working on stuff for the competition. This also meant that she was late at starting, rather than starting at 8am she didn't start painting till 9amish.
It was a super long day and at 2pm Maz wasn't sure if she would finish in time. The judges thought that Maz's piece was beautifully painted and they could see the amount of detail in the piece. Chris did a fantastic job on stage, jumping and cartwheeling...he was brilliant. Maz was also told by Gino (from Weta) that her work has really improved over the years...that was probably the highlight of Maz's day.
Maz had a few tickets for the competition, so JayJay & Sandro came to watch and scream for Maz & Sam's work.
Sadly (and she isn't surprised) Maz didn't place at the awards. Carmel was the winner of hand painted and Kelly Ren was the Surpreme Award winner (she won Best Novice last year). Photos of the day can be found below.
Maz really wants to re-paint the horimono on Chris and take some photos of his leaping in the air etc with the weapon.
Next years theme for the Body Art Awards is Bollywood. Oh dear lord save us...how narrow is that?!?!?
After the body art awards Maz, Russell, Chris, Dee and Sam headed off to Ginger Minx and met up with Hez, Tina, Dave and Sarah. We would of been there much sooner, but Dee's car broke down at Onewa Road. So Sandro (Chris's partner) came and saved Chris & Maz. Dee & Sam (after parking the car in a side street) got a ride with Russell.

The transtasman bond has become a wee bit tighter following last week's big earthquake in Fiordland. The quake last Wednesday night was the largest to strike the country in 80 years. The 7.8 magnitude quake which was centred in Fiordland appears to have twisted the South Island out of shape, moving it closer to Australia. According to the Land Information's New Zealand-GeoNet global positioning system, Fiordland town Te Anau is now 100 millimetres closer to Australia. The South Island's southwest tip Puysegur Point is 300 millimetres closer.

Customers and employees of businesses in the Albany Basin will soon be able to assess traffic delays before choosing whether to set off - thanks to webcams aimed at seven main entry and exit points. Congested roads serving the huge industrial estate have long been a frustration at peak times. A jury has found former Otago University tutor Clayton Weatherston guilty of murdering his ex-girlfriend Sophie Elliott. The jury returned its verdict at the High Court in Christchurch about 11.20am. Weatherston, 33, was charged with the murder of Ms Elliott, 22, in Dunedin on January 9 last year. Weatherston accepted he was guilty of manslaughter, but denied the charge of murder. Woman's refuge described the trial as a "national disgrace" which gave Weatherston the opportunity to persecute Miss Elliott and her family after her death. "This trial turned justice inside out - the killer became the victim and Sophie Elliot was portrayed to us all as he chose to describe her," chief executive Heather Henare said after the verdict. "Unfortunately for Clayton Weatherston, the jury didn't buy it and nor did the hundreds of thousands of New Zealanders who watched him giggling on their televisions."

AUCKLAND FORECAST TODAY After midnight yet again so we have to write this one. It was a nice day today, sunny with no rain (well not out west) and one point it looked like it was going to rain, but it was just a threat. Oh and there was some thunder & lighting late last night.
CURRENT WEIRDNESS How many call backs and extra work Maz is picking up...
DAILY FOF MOMENT That because of a few people the extras were given a speech on what to and what not to do on set...like being quite when they call 'action' Fail!!!
This is (I think) going to be fairly short...but we will see since the blogs have been getting longer over the past few months.
Maz spent here day on set out in the cold (not really cold, it just sounds better) and didn't wrap till midnight. She is back at it again tomorrow, has Thursday off and then could possibly be working on Friday. Awesome way to spend the week leading up to body art awards huh?
Maz got the most awesome surprise this evening when arriving home, sat down at the computer as normal and went about the catch up business, till Russell said "do you notice anything different with the computer area". She didn't though, well besides the odd looking pen sitting on top of the monitor. And then Russell showed her...*ta-daaaaaaa* her very own drawing tablet for the computer. How fuckin awesome is that? Maz can't wait to try it out, but it is going to have to wait till she isn't on set or doesn't have body art stuff to sort out.
About 200 Inland Revenue staff at an Upper Hutt mail room were evacuated this morning when staff opened a package containing white powder, which later turned out to be harmless. Preliminary ESR analysis suggested the powder was not a dangerous substance but until further testing was done it could be described as "a white powder", said Upper Hutt police area commander Inspector Michael Hill. About 7.30am a mail room worker apparently opened the envelope, saw the powder and said "Wow, I'm getting out of here," Mr Hill said. There was a large emergency services response and IRD staff were evacuated for about an hour. Those who came into contact with the package underwent a Fire Service decontamination process. Police were conducting a criminal investigation and the envelope would be forensically tested to try and determine who sent it, Mr Hill said. The results were expected in the next day or two.
A Maori couple say they will think twice about helping others after being pepper-sprayed and arrested when trying to help a seriously injured man on the Gold Coast.
Kararaina Ngoungou and Munro Waerea, both 24 and from Whakatane, were out on the last night of a holiday with two other former Otago University friends and another acquaintance. The group of five had left their motel in Surfers Paradise just before midnight on Saturday when they saw a man who appeared to be in his mid-20s lying in a pool of blood on the footpath. Police were standing by the man but left before the group reached him. Ms Ngoungou, a dental hygienist, said she was worried about the man's condition because no ambulance had arrived. She took off her jumper and was looking for a wound so she could apply pressure while Mr Waerea checked for a pulse. "I was thinking, 'Did he fall?, was he stabbed?' I was worried that no one was applying pressure to stop the blood. He was unconscious, this guy looked almost dead." Moments later police returned to the scene and immediately approached the friends. One reached for his pepper-spray straight away, Mr Waerea said. None of his group was given a chance to explain that they were trying to help. (Read More...)
A resident of Muff Road in the town of Orari 130km south west of Christchurch is asking for his street to be renamed. Not only would a name change prevent the street signs thefts that have plagued the road, but it would also be a chance to recognise the original geographic name of the district, resident Roger Payne said. "Because of the ongoing problem with signage, I would like to see the original geographic name restored so the road could have safe signage." Mr Payne said old survey maps showed the road as Ohapi Rd, and he suggested that would be a good alternative as it ties in with the name of a local creek, the Timaru Herald reported. It would also recognise Ohapi Settlement, an area given to returned servicemen to farm after World War II.

DAILY FOF MOMENT Maz recieving messages on Stalkbook asking why they (person sending message) was deleted from her friends list. Some have even tried adding Maz back as a friend...she deleted you, deal with it. Fail!!!
Ummmmmmm...really nothing to go in here today. Maz has work on Seeker tomorrow and with a 10.15am start she likes them so far, that could all change tomorrow though. Maz distroyed her friends list on Stalkbook this evening, about 100 people didn't make the cut "I'm sorry, you are the weakest link...now fuck off".

SIDESWIPPING IT... A frustrated dad sold his family trampoline for $1 after a series of expensive mishaps. He explains in his Trade Me listing: "If I had a chainsaw, I would hack it into small pieces on a stormy night while cackling like a maniac ...I got it for free from a neighbour, and thought, 'Bargain' ... Little did I know that it would end up costing me $742. Incident 1: Tandem jumping collision. Result - $48 at A& E (kid number one's head), $84 at dentist (kid number two's teeth), $24 painkillers. Incident 2: Son sneaks out at 8pm for sneaky jump. Result: Leadlight, $140; ambulance, $90; flowers for wobbly head lady, $38; flowers for leadlight lady, $38. Incident 4: After just four weeks, I decide to kill trampoline. CURRENT WEIRDNESS Blank moment...so no weirdness...
DAILY FOF MOMENT Well the original fail of the day was going to be Tina tripping on the edge of a bit of wood under a mat and looking like a total dick...hahahaha. BUT something far more entertaining happened.
Brought to you yet again by Tina...
She was trying on Matt's work harness...Matt said "try that on", so she tried it on...he then told Tina to tighten it up, so naturally she listened (like the good little bitch she is)...HOWEVER, while she wasn't paying attention Matt flung it up over the beam and lifted her off the ground. Meanwhile Maz was on the computer after culling her list when she heard Tina then screaming like a bitch cause her balls were hurting. Maz ran in saw what was going on, ran back, got her camera, realised there was no card, managed to go grab one and take a photo all before she was let down...."hahaha...what good help I was. Such a good friend I am"
Tina didn't want you to see her crying like a bitch because of her balls, so we have blurred her
SO that is the FAIL OF THE DAY!!
At least Tina learnt, Never trust Matt when strapped in a harness!
After not rolling in the door till about 4.30am Maz never got to bed till almost 5.30am. So she slept all day...well till around 2pm.
Hell must of froze over this morning because Tina, Matt and the kids went to church. WTF? They never go to church, but somehow they were talked into go by Matt's dad.
Other than that nothing much to report on today.

The names are suggested by members of the Messenger team, the public and the International Astronomical Union.

The winner is due to be announced by the end of tomorrow. However organisers wiped all the votes for both contestants after allegations were made that Rodriguez was cheating, according to a fan site run by her brother. She was alleged to have told people how to set up an automatic vote for her on the site.
THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO AWW... The long-lost love who stole Hank Hartel's heart has been found. The 69-year-old Australian was searching for New Zealander Jan Grace, whom he met on a ship from England in 1965. Hank was thrilled to learn Jan contacted the Herald on Sunday after his story appeared last week. "It's beautiful," he said. "It'll be nice just to be able to send her an email." Jan, who has been happily married for 40 years and has two adult children and four grandchildren, said she remembered Hartel well. "A lovely, sincere, handsome young man with a good sense of humour,"she said. "We shared a lot of fun and good times until he left the ship in Melbourne to start his new life in Australia."

CURRENT WEIRDNESS That Maz's absolute hatred and loath for children increases everyday...
DAILY FOF MOMENT JayJay forgot to send the shop order last night, she found out today when she got to work and wondered where is was. FAIL!!!
Maz has been a busy beaver today. She had an interview for the North Shore Times this afternoon, had a wardrobe fitting for Legend of the Seeker, then it was off to look at washing machines (Tina's one is broken) and then FINALLY at long last it was back home to start working on stuff for the Body Art Awards. 9 days to go now and she is still laxed about the whole thing.
JayJay had a customer today called No Moon Soon. For real and that spelling isn't made up either. She has also been served at the post office all week by the same person, Cartia, like the asprin tablet. What's with the weird names? JayJay also had somebody ask her if she got a new tattoo and what it meant, because of the placement of the JadedSphnix logo on her Facebook profile picture.
Lots happening in the news today so lets get to it...
Officials are today checking for damage after a huge earthquake rocked parts of the South Island last night. People ran from restaurants in Queenstown as buildings shook and lights went out. Phone lines went down as people overloaded the lines. GNS recorded the quake as 7.8 magnitude at 9.22pm followed 20 minutes later by a 6.1 magnitude. The quake was followed by violent aftershocks felt as far north as Wellington. GNS seismologist Bill Fry said the aftershocks would last for the next few weeks.
The effects of the 7.8 earthquake and aftershocks that struck Fiordland last night were felt as far away as Australia. The quake, which was centred 100km northwest of Tuatapere and 12km deep, struck at 9.22pm and triggered an alert from the Pacific tsunami warning centre in Hawaii. In Sydney, a performance at Bondi Pavilion was cancelled and the theatregoers were evacuated, while other Sydney residents were warned to keep away from the water's edge. However, there was only a small surge of water, about 17cm high, and the tsunami warning was cancelled after its size was confirmed on arrival at Bluff at about 10.30pm.
A 10th person has died of swine flu, the Ministry of Health says. The latest death was a Gisborne man in his 40s with serious underlying medical conditions. (seems that everybody who has died from swine flu in NZ have all had underlying medical conditions)
A sharp-eyed prison officer foiled an attempt to have cannabis delivered to an inmate at Tongariro/Rangipo prison on the weekend. "One of our guys was on his way into work when he spotted what looked like a tupperware container tucked into the grass by the prison entrance," acting assistant regional manager Diane Brophy said. "The way the container was placed aroused suspicion so the Corrections officer stopped to investigate further. "Inside he found approximately an ounce of cannabis leaf - enough for several tinnies and considered a valuable commodity by some prisoners." While there was no indication of who the drugs were for it was likely somebody planted it for a prisoner on an outside work party to pick up later, Ms Brophy said.
A Queenstown schoolboy is facing possible suspension after creating an "abusive and derogatory" online quiz about his teachers on the social networking website Facebook. The quiz, littered with profanities, referred to one teacher as a drug user, while others were described as circus freaks, The Southland Times reported. The 15-year-old invited friends to compare themselves to staff members at Wakatipu High School by answering five questions.
A New Zealand man spent a "wretched" night in a Fiji prison cell after frightened residents and police raided his Freemasons meeting, suspecting witchcraft and sorcery. The man, who didn't want to be named, blamed "dopey village people" for the raid in which 14 members of the Freemasons Lodge of Lautoka were herded into police cars and jailed for the night. Police also seized lodge paraphernalia, including wands, compasses and a skull.

SIDESWIPPING IT A reader writes: "A friend of ours thought he was pretty clever for finally finishing fencing the backyard so the new dog couldn't get out. A full day of hammering and sawing, doing 'man stuff' ... After the job was finished, his wife returned home to view the final product. She was overjoyed, but then asked, 'So you're not going fishing any more?' A confused hubby didn't get it, until his wife pointed out he had not only fenced in the dog, but the family boat and trailer as well. Nice one, Dave."
New Zealand actor Sam Neill has been fronting a pro-meat television ad saying red meat is a vital contributor to brain health and featuring lines such as, "Meat - you'd be silly not to eat it". This has angered Jason Baker, director of PETA Asia-Pacific, an animal ethics group, who sent him a letter suggesting alternatives, such as, "Meat: it's what's rotting in your colon". In a letter to Neill he says: "Seeing you pimp for an industry that is linked to the main killers of human beings as well as of animals is, well, sad ... Human beings don't have to die of meat-related causes, such as cancer of the bowel and colon, and hardened arteries."

DAILY FOF MOMENT Maz & Russell stopped in at Gull this afternoon, Maz went in and paid and was in her own world walking back to the car. She didn't notice that Russell had pulled up near the entrance so she didn't have to walk as far and in her own little world walked towards the pump. Till Russell tooted. FAIL!!! and I'm sorry that's as good as we can do today for a fail.
Lets see...it's July 15th which means that today is JayJay's birthday!!! Maz sent her a somewha annoying text this morning...basicially the Happy Birthday song but sent as it is sung (line by line).

Amber made a complete dick of herself while at Denny's having breakfast with Hannah. She (Hannah) was telling Amber something about elk, and Amber was like "whats an elk?". Hannah was like "really? its a reindeer!". And then Amber looked like a dick by saying "whoa I thought reindeer were made up!!"
Maz was up at the crack of dawn (not even dawn) to boot Russell out of bed to drop Matt off at work. Then helped Tina get Jamie & Joelle ready to go on set for the first time, they were super excited. Domestic morning, washed dishes, cleaned windows (how thrilling). Took photos of Biccie & Doughnut pendants, they are now available to buy...YAY!!!

A man who watched his bus burn in front of him is unimpressed the fire communications centre did not know where Southland was. Greg Sayers was outside his family's partly converted small bus in Edendale, 39km northeast of Invercargill, when he noticed it was on fire and called 111, the Southland Times reported. The operator put him through to fire communications, but told him no one was answering, Mr Sayers said. The operator then tried a different number, but the new operator was unsure of where he was in the country, he said. "I said Edendale and she said 'where's that?' and I said Southland and she said 'where's that?"'Police have confirmed that as part of a review of equipment used by frontline officers some speed radars will be taken out of patrol cars and not all will necessarily be replaced. Frontline officers say they had been advised 400 Stalker detection units, which are leased, are to be removed from police vehicles as part of efforts to cut $21 million from the police operating budget. There are 1000 Stalker units in patrol cars around the country. Officers said they feared many speeding motorists would now escape without penalty. SIDESWIPPING IT A reader writes: "While heading north at the weekend I spotted a hitchhiker with a sense of humour hoping for a ride in the other direction. To up his chances of success he held a sign reading 'Won't kill you'. I have no doubt he would have been picked up in no time at all by a passerby or, if not, a marketing agency with a little foresight."
An American toddler did such a good job of hiding during a game of hide-and-seek that the family had to call police to help find her. An Auckland Prison visitor has been arrested after trying to smuggle in drugs and a cellphone in his shoes. The man was visiting the prison with a woman yesterday when a search revealed the contraband, prison manager Kelly Puohotaua said. "On the female visitor we found a cellphone, brand new, that she had no idea how to use ," he said. "The male visitor was picked up by the metal detector on his way to being searched, indicating an object possibly concealed in his shoes. "Staff began the rub down search and could strongly smell glue. The inner sole and outer heel of each of his shoes had been removed and cannabis and a cellphone packed inside them, before they were glued back together." The man was detained by staff until police arrived, arresting him and cautioning the woman.
Healthcare lobbyists have criticised the Government's funding cuts in the face of a report showing New Zealand is the third fattest nation in the developed world. They fear disease and complications caused by obesity will lead to higher healthcare costs in the future. The Health Care Data 2009 report, by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, focused on 30 nations. Of those that reported on weight issues, all showed they were getting fatter. The obesity rate among adults in New Zealand in 2007 was 26.5 per cent. This compared with figures reported the previous year by the United States at 34.3 per cent and Mexico at 30 per cent.
Giving Maori title over the seabed and foreshore could result in charges for commercial recreational activities, such as surfing or surfcasting competitions, says a controversial legal academic. David Round, a law lecturer at the University of Canterbury, said that if any form of title was given to Maori - or anyone other than the Crown - it was likely iwi could charge for any commercial use of that area.
Television and film producer John Barnett supports the concept of a super city but doesn't want the film industry to be its first casualty. He fears that might happen if diversity or suburban identities disappear under a bland, single-brand Auckland Council. Barnett says he is concerned the "holistic" environment in Waitakere city for the film industry, where his company South Pacific Pictures is based, might be affected by local government reorganisation. CURRENT WEIRDNESS How much shopping Maz has been doing...
DAILY FOF MOMENT Tina was about to post a letter off. Thing is she hadn't written the address on it or who the sender was, but at least it had a stamp right? FAIL!!!
Maz slept like a retard monkey last night, so has felt like that she should be wearing a neckbrace all day. But it did stop her from painting the doughnuts or going shopping...a fine form corset top for herself and a couple of dvd's (Edward Scissorhands & Nightwatch)...AND two hoodies & a t-shirt for Russell. One of the hoodies reads "SINGLE...ish". Naughty Maz!
JayJay is still finding blue paint on her...surprise, surprise. Today it was blue snot...how I have no idea, especially since she wasn't airbrushed. She must of been snotting smurfs or something.

Bewildered passengers found the platforms unusually green and springy at Britomart Station in Auckland yesterday, after the concrete floor was temporarily transformed into a "meadow". One train driver spent all day driving in and out of the station amid the actors, buttercups, bushes and grass needed for the advertisements. Northcote Intermediate students will be next to walk on the grass. It will be laid between new classrooms being built at the school.
A 50-year-old Mt Maunganui woman died after lying for hours in a roadside ditch between Tauranga and Te Maunga during heavy rain early yesterday. The woman was a passenger in a car travelling along State Highway 2 towards Te Maunga - or 'The Mount' - when about one kilometre past the Maungatapu bridge from Tauranga she asked to make a toilet stop. She got out, climbed over the metal crash barrier on the roadside and is thought to have fallen, ending up lying in the ditch. It is believed she had been drinking.

A reader who went to Moyes in Panmure with his 67-year-old mother wasn't impressed with the service. "She was looking at a Suzuki Swift. I test-drove a car and said I would go away and think about it and the salesman told me and my mother to 'f*** off' and go and waste someone else's time. I complained but heard nothing back. Great service from a so-called reputable car yard. Mother bought a new Suzuki Swift, but not from Moyes."
About 200 pre-teens in London were given pedometers to count how many steps they walked, as part of a study into obesity. The study required 11- and 12-year-olds to clip a pedometer to their waists, with researchers at the Mile End Centre for Sports and Exercise Medicine collecting the readings by satellite. Researchers were surprised by the activity levels recorded in some obese children; further investigation revealed some had attached their pedometer to their family pets.

Amber is currently working on a new track for Codeine Like Candy, it's the one with the weird male voice in the background. However since Amber doesn't believe in ghosts "it's some weird frequency thing that i cant explain right now". It's all very weird. But what's weirder still is that she heard the voices when her headphones were off and the song wasnt even playing. She thought it was someone outside, then thought i was going skitso...but then Lauren heard it too. Amber didn't tell anyone about it and when they were having band practice and Lauren was like "who sings those male vocals in there?"

A morbidly obese man so big he had to be cut out of his home for hospital treatment could have been lying there for days. Eight firefighters and three ambulance officers were called on to get the man, who is believed to be in his 50s, out of the second storey of his Rotorua home. The team lowered the man - estimated by one firefighter to weigh 400kg - to the ground with a forklift after cutting a hole in the wall. They manoeuvred him to the forklift by dragging him across the ground on a sheet. "We got him on to the back of a truck, which a member of the public kindly offered to drive, because he wouldn't fit in the ambulance," said firefighter Derryn Davidson. Senior Station Officer Jim Prescott said the man could have been lying on the ground for days after falling and being unable to get up or help himself. Because he had made his home in a workshop in an industrial area, it was likely no one knew he was there.

Maz, Russell & Tina went to Ginger Minx last night. And we must say the music was pretty good (mainly because we turned up at 11pm & benwah was on). Tina really enjoyed the Minx, it was way different to what she expected, but she can see now why we go and hang out there.

This evening we christened the house with it's first body paint and JayJay nakie time, as Maz was painting JayJay up for Kinky Slinky. Maz is stoked with how it came out...not bad considering she hasn't had much pratice at painting clothing.
All up it took about 4 hours of painting. So not bad at all.
Kinky Slinky was okay, but it was just another Slinky event. The dancers wore their usually stuff, even though they were told to push the risk factor a bit. So all in all a non-event on the kink side of things. Justin Sanes had the crowd cranking in the front room, while the main room was well...the main room.
AUCKLAND FORECAST TODAY N/A as this is being written on Sunday! It was raining though.
CURRENT WEIRDNESS Being so tired after the trip to the Minx last night. Geez was in bed by 2.30am...
DAILY FOF MOMENT It was going to be the dancers at Kinky Slinky...not really dancing but really just pose, pose, pose. But then we got back to where JayJay's car was and well it was there...but not anymore. Yes JayJay's car got towed...so we were out in the wind and the rain, it was fuckin cold so we had to text around to get picked up (especially since she couldn't pick it up till 7am). So...RUSSELL TO THE RESCUE!!! That was a MAJOR FAIL!
The halfway point looms ever closer! Only a few days to go before you hit it...I wonder how quickly time will go after halfway.
Maz had another productive day, this time making Doughnut pendants. YUM!!! (doughnuts not really eatable) and tonight she is going to pop into Ginger Minx with Tina & Russell. Should be good.
Tomorrow night Maz is body painting JayJay for Kinky Slinky. Exciting stuff, especially since Maz is going to try out a few new things. And don't worry there will be photos (possibly before anybody else sees).

Maz also went to Spotlight again and spent a further $20 on lace, ribbon, string of pearls and gold 'rope' (stuff for the Kinky Slinkybody paint & Body Art Awards). It is Australia's national gemstone, mined in the deserts of the Outback and prized worldwide for its brilliant plays of light and colour. But the opal industry is struggling, with the market flooded with synthetic stones and demand plunging thanks to the global recession. The situation is so dire that the world's only tertiary-level course in opal cutting, in the South Australian mining town of Coober Pedy, has just been scrapped. Stuart Jackson, who founded the course 20 years ago, said yesterday: "Opal is a luxury item and times are tough. You can't eat it, you don't need it, so people aren't buying it." Coober Pedy calls itself the "Opal Capital of the World", but even there, shops in the dusty main street are selling synthetic stones, made from plastic and silica and imported into Australia, mainly from Japan.
U2 and Bono's long-held commitment to "save the planet" has been questioned after it emerged they have a combined carbon footprint big enough to fly the band the distance from the Earth to Mars. The Irish rockers have campaigned to fight poverty and Aids in Africa and Bono called on the world's population to take better care of their planet. Speaking in Tokyo last year he said: "My prayer is that we become better in looking after our planet." However, according to an environmentalists' website, the band's 100-date 18-month world tour will see the multi-millionaires clock up 70,000 air miles (113,000km) in their private jet.

The other's white. One was convicted. The other was never a suspect. Please check out the story here and Digg it or Twitter a link to it #FreeEric. It hasn't had much publicity at all, just a single story on ESPN.

SIDESWIPPING IT An empty billboard is an ugly thing in a recession and a tempting canvas for taggers, but a group of street artists from Cut Collective have come up with a great idea to brighten up unbooked billboard space. Together with billboard company OGGI, the Cut Collective will add its street art on empty billboard spaces around Auckland. The first artwork, measuring a massive 6m x 3m, will be auctioned on Trade Me, with the proceeds going to Kenzies Gift, a charity supporting families of children with cancer. Come on, corporate Auckland with large dull foyers, dig deep!

(Adam) Freeland...check that shit out!!! Click here!!! So hawt today. now there is a reason behind knowing about Freeland, PEREZ! But anywho apparently Black Eyed Peas have stolen a sample of the song "Mancry" by Freeland. According to reports, B.E.P. member and producer Will.I.Am was at an event last year where Freeland performed this song in question. The B.E.P "version" is called "Party All The Time" and is to be on their new album The E.N.D. We will have to see what happens. Let's see...Maz was up at the crack of dawn (it wasn't even dawn, it was still dark outside) to watch the Michael Jackson Memorial on TV, and she was surprised that it wasn't the circus that she was expecting it would be. It was like a normal funeral service, but with a few thousand more people. Beautifully done. Maz has finished all of her designing now (both NZ Body Art and Style Pasifika are down). This afternoon she went and picked up the fabric needed (SPOTLIGHT)...one of the fabrics was $26.99 per meter, Maz is rather shocked that she paid it and all up spent close to $80 on fabric for what is basicially a skirt. While in Spotlight though Maz found these things called Face Paint Sticks...and began to think. They are basicially like a crayon but paint. Could possibly make life a lot easier and very interesting. Bring on the competition!!!
Nine Wellington bus drivers have been sacked for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in fares, but they won't face charges if they repay the money, bus company Go Wellington says. The drivers were fired over the past three months for stealing at least $20,000 between May and June, the Dominion Post reported.
More New Zealanders are cutting their spending because of the recession but the dollars they do spend are going on food, fashion and fun, a survey shows.
The cost of living in Auckland is cheap compared with major cities measured in a global survey. Out of the 143 cities measured by consultancy firm Mercer, Auckland placed 138th, down from 78th in 2008. Mercer's 2009 Worldwide Cost of Living survey compares the cost of housing, transport, food and other goods, and is used an indicator for compensation for companies who send their employees abroad.
SIDESWIPPING IT One way to keep those Swine Flu carriers away: "You wash your coffee mug and leave it to dry in the office kitchen. Next thing you know, Nasty Joe from three cubes down is using your coffee mug. Our Dirty Mug is sure to fend off other people. Even when it's clean it looks ... well, dirty. No one will ever steal your mug again." (PerpetualKid.com)
Megan writes: "It's nice to know that Post Haste Drivers sign for your parcels themselves. But rather than asking your name or letting you sign it yourself, they use nicknames. A driver I encountered signed me as 'Old Lady'. I am 24. Maybe he shouldn't be driving if he thought I looked that old."
