Day FiftySeven of being Aflickionless...

The halfway point looms ever closer! Only a few days to go before you hit it...I wonder how quickly time will go after halfway.

Maz had another productive day, this time making Doughnut pendants. YUM!!! (doughnuts not really eatable) and tonight she is going to pop into Ginger Minx with Tina & Russell. Should be good.

Tomorrow night Maz is body painting JayJay for Kinky Slinky. Exciting stuff, especially since Maz is going to try out a few new things. And don't worry there will be photos (possibly before anybody else sees).

Nearly 400 jobs at New Zealand Post Group have fallen victim to the recession. Acting group chief executive Sam Knowles said there had been 237 redundancies in the first half of this year, 86 jobs were lost through attrition, and 61 fixed term contracts not renewed. Not all the news was bad, with 90 new jobs created.

Police have arrested a male cross-dresser after two bank robberies in Manawatu. The man and a woman were stopped in a car by police in central Palmerston North soon after a Kiwibank was robbed about noon yesterday. The man, wearing a skirt and high-heeled boots, made off with about $800, police said.

Organisers of the annual Starlight Symphony concert in Auckland may have been thrown a lifeline. The concert, one of the city's most popular events, faces being axed after its major sponsor, SkyCity, announced it was pulling out. But sponsorship broker Murray Stott - managing director of Database Publishing - told the Herald he was willing to step in to help save the event.

All New Zealanders can get a free flu jab as the Ministry of Health moves to ease pressure on struggling medical centres and hospitals. Eligibility for a free seasonal influenza vaccine has been extended to all New Zealanders, not just those with underlying health problems. It is available from general practices from now until the end of September. The vaccine would not protect individuals from swine flu.

It has been touted as a successful treatment for everything from insomnia and depression to Parkinson's disease and multiple sclerosis. Should marijuana be legal in NZ on prescription only? (yes the debate is back on)

Day FourtyEight of being Aflickionless...

Day 48 which means we are only eleven days away from the half way point. Can you believe it, your almost half way through your trip!

JayJay got her hand/finger caught in her glasses, so now she has a cut on her palm and a blood bluster on her middle finger. How she managed that, I have no idea!

Maz's boo boo from her PHAIL yesterday is feeling pretty good today, must of been the deep heat. Although she slept wrong so is suffering from sore shoulders instead...MAZ IS BROKEN! haha!
DeviantART is having a HUGE sale on prints at the moment, you can save up to 80% on the normal retail price (discount only applies to your own prints available on DeviantART). So Maz is deciding if to get some prints and if so what OR if she should get something of hers printed for somebody. Hmmmm...click here to check out the prints Maz has available.

Garlic Butter on fresh bread...YUM!
Another thing you are missing...The Nation's chip CHESSEYMITE FLAVOUR! The Marmite and chip sandwich in a chip...now you can make the sandwich without the Marmite.

The 2009 NZ Body Art Awards are coming up...only twenty five days to go *gasp*. Saturday 25th July 2009, Bruce Mason Centre. For more information on this years competition visit bodyartawards.co.nz
Maz will make sure that she gets as many photos as humanly possible while doing a body paint at the same time. (and as a side note: "hahahaha you don't need to kick my ass for not entering. Although it would of been interesting how you would of done that from all the way over there.")

A Northland family have lost all their possessions after a cat knocked over a candle, setting fire to their house. Their barking dog alerted the family to the flames engulfing the house by State Highway 12 at Kaikohe last night.

A Christchurch postal worker has admitted stealing hundreds of items of mail over the last six years. Stephen James Cadigan has been employed by New Zealand Post for 35 years.

Police and fire safety officers are investigating a suspicious fire that damaged a Nelson kindergarten early today. Firefighters were called to Waverley Street Kindergarten in the suburb of Richmond about 4.30am, Richmond chief fire officer Ralph Lonsdale told NZPA. The blaze was started on a sofa that was sitting in front of a window on a patio outside of the building. The kindergarten was known as a place where people gathered during nights and on weekends, Mr Lonsdale said. "But the people must have had some sort of heart because they'd moved the rabbit hutch out of the way. "The rabbit lives," he said.

The discovery of a supernova by a North Canterbury farmer has been confirmed by the Royal Astronomical Society of New Zealand. Dairy farmer Stuart Parker captured an image of the exploding star with a computer-controlled camera mounted to an amateur 14" telescope.

Dresses made from toilet paper will be among the outfits showcased at this year's New Zealand Fashion Week. Three students from NZ Fashion Tech in Auckland City have been given the opportunity to have their toilet paper creations displayed in the Designer Selection Show - the biggest show of Fashion Week.

Auckland Zoo's otter family has two new additions - the first of their kind born in Australasia in more than six years. The 5-week-old Asian small-clawed otters weigh about 400g each. Team leader of primates Amy Dixon said the pups were developing well. "They're putting on weight and looking like real little otters."

New Zealand's official count of swine flu cases jumped sharply again yesterday - the same day as the world's first case was reported of the virus being resistant to Tamiflu treatment. The Ministry of Health reported 64 new cases of confirmed swine flu yesterday, taking the tally since the illness emerged in April to 653. However, the real number will be much higher, since routine swabbing of potential cases has stopped.

Armed police have cordoned off two Christchurch roads near a high school after reports of gunshots in the suburb of Mairehau this morning. Mairehau High School has gone into lockdown after reports of the shots just before 11.30am today, Inspector Alan Weston of southern police communications told NZPA.

A fire in Gisborne last night caused "catastrophic" damage to the city's business heart, fire authorities say. Fire engulfed the top two levels of the historic Adair Building and incinerated floors and the roof. Flames could be seen leaping up to 15 metres above the building's former skyline.

Earthquakes that have rocked a Lake Taupo village and forced the evacuation of residents are likely to continue, a volcanologist says. The lakeside township of Waihi, the home of Ngati Tuwharetoa leader Timi Te Heuheu, was in lockdown yesterday as an emergency zone after about 60 residents left the area on Monday on the advice of Civil Defence staff who feared slips would follow the quakes. The threat of landslides comes from a large thermal area on a known seismic fault line above Waihi known as the "Steaming Hills". The area has not had a major slip since 1905.

American rockers Green Day have added a second date to their Auckland concert in December after tickets sold out within minutes this morning. A second and final concert has been added for Friday, December 18.

Michael Jackson's doctor reportedly waited up to half an hour before calling paramedics after he found the King of Pop unconscious at his Los Angeles home last week, a lawyer representing the cardiologist said. Online reports claim that devastated Michael Jackson fans have committed suicide after learning their icon had died. It has been claimed that 12 devotees have allegedly killed themselves in the wake of the singer's death, according to the founder of an online fan club devoted to Jackson.

A four-year-old girl has suffered severe facial burns after an aerosol explosion in the Bay of Plenty today. The Fire Service was called by ambulance staff to give medical assistance at a house in Otimi Street in Maketu, about 40km from Tauranga, about 3.15pm today. A Fire Service northern communications spokesperson said an aerosol can had exploded but there was no fire at the scene.

Fire crews are at a blaze at The Press newspaper offices in Christchurch's Cathedral Square. (fire, fire everywhere)

SIDESWIPPING IT
A reader writes: "I am insanely irritated by One News presenters referring to Jim Hickey as 'Jimmy'. He's not a friggin' 10-year-old kid who's just washed your car. That buddy-buddy, over-familiar garbage does not friendly up your news bulletin. It reeks of an in-house audience-alienating pap. Same goes for calling sports reporter Andrew Saville 'Sav'. Stop it. Please."

Sharon Newey says she must've missed the announcement that GST was to rise to 38 per cent. "But no, it's just Telecom getting my phone bill wrong. It was by luck that I saw it, so all you Telecom customers, please check your bills. The nice lady at Telecom happily corrected it but didn't seem to take my request that they check other people's bills that seriously."

Day FourtyFive of being Aflickionless...

Who's a lucky, lucky person, seeing 6 acts front and centre?

Last night was National Anthems @ 324. Nick Collings set was wall banging awesome, but Joe Johnson had glasses vibrating off tables (Joe did a 3 hour set, because Sam Hill pulled out). Both were wicked, wicked sets anyway...although I thought Voyager was heaps better.
Currently waiting for JayJay to edit her photos (Corey is going to teach her how to), once they are up I will post a few here.

If you expect everything to be or turn into a drama then it will, but if you just let things be then it will just be.
That's the theory, but it's amazing how people just enjoy turning things into drama's when they don't have to be.

Maz just sent Russell to the supermarket for Chocolate Primo, Cornflakes and milk...it's almost 4pm. Hang overish much? Last night Maz also (FINALLY) got "Woody Woodpecker"...she's gone far to long without hearing it.
Also Maz did her weekly media radio research survey today and is horrofied that "Day and Night" is still on the list (it's been on it for months now), but she is pleased to report that Little Boots "New In Town" is now on the list. YAY!

Miss Cadaver has started a blog to, shits and giggles naturally. Check it out!

Lotto first division was won last night by two tickets, bought at Brookfield New World in Tauranga and City Mart in Hamilton. Each takes away half a million dollars. Lotto Powerball jackpots to an estimated five million dollar prize next weekend.

The West Coast was shaken by two earthquakes this morning. The quakes, in the Lord Howe Rise region about 100km northwest of Ross, both happened at 6.32am. The first, at a magnitude of 5.0, struck at a depth of 12km, and the second, a 4.8 magnitude, at a depth of 90km.

Teens ages as young as 16 are being declared insolvent as the number of people succumbing to debt balloons. A 16-year-old, three 17-year-olds and 16 18-year-olds were among the 810 people under 25 declared insolvent in the 2009 financial year - more than double the 2005 figure.
Insolvencies, which include bankruptcy and two new alternatives, shot up by 77 per cent overall, from 2986 in the year ending June 30, 2005, to 5292 so far this year.

The NZ Herald coverage of Glastonbury. You were there (I see what you mean by the valley of tents). Thought you would find it interesting to see what they said about it. Read here.

When they worked together and argued together, TVNZ's power couple just emerged stronger. But when their work schedules separated them, the distance proved insurmountable. Simon Dallow has now moved out of the Remuera home he shared with wife Alison Mau and their two children, friends told the Herald on Sunday. But yesterday he picked up son Joel, 8. There had been signs of trouble as long as 10 years ago, yet this week's announcement that Dallow and Mau were separating after 19 years of marriage surprised even some of their closest friends. (slow news day huh?)

CURRENT WEIRDNESS
JayJay is cooking potatoe bake and hasn't burnt down the house yet.

DAILY FOF MOMENT
At JayJay's place they have a big 4L bottle that they make juice in. Mark had brought the raro in 3 sachets so it needs four of them to make a bottle full, so JayJay pulled one off another set of three and it ripped open spilling raro all over the floor. She thought to herself "fuck! I wont do that again but I will tell maz for the fof".
So she cut the next one off fine, and the next one she was shaking the powder to the bottom so that she could rip the top off and the fucken thing ripped apart spraying raro all over the floor again! JayJay was extra careful with the fourth one, which went fine. Now she is walking raro through the house coz she's too lazy to clean it up and its all over her socks. FAIL!

Day FourtyFour of being Aflickionless...

Right about now Maz SHOULD BE deciding what to wear out tonight and doing her hair (well sorting everything out). But no, the blog has to be done first. Originally (okay not originally, but as far as things went last night) Maz wasn't going to National Anthems, but that's changed now and she has decided to go; especially since she enjoyed Voyager.
Tonight also means that at long last Maz & JayJay are going to see each other. It's been over a month now, so prepare for them to get their rape on.

Mardi Gras is also on this weekend and a fair few people have hopped off down the line for that.

The wake up call that Maz got from the Little Boots gig was awesome, even if it was 6.30am. What a way to start the day huh? And she is so jealous she wasn't there, although for a moment it felt like she was, bopping along to the music in bed...haha!
How awesome was it? It sounded amazing...mind blowing...something that would be overly hard to discribe. But very awe inspiring.

Maz almost passed out in the shower this afternoon. The whole faint feeling, a ringing head and muffled sound of the shower (to the point of not hearing the water running). Lucky Russell was around to keep an eye on her.

Divine Brown Deluxe: Chocolate Cookies & Fudge. There is a God when it comes to ice cream. It is sooooo good.

Also while we are at it...
"75 days till Haydn gets back, 75 days till he returns, wake up one day and fuck around, 74 days till Haydn returns"

Music stores around the country were swamped yesterday by fans buying Michael Jackson albums and videos after his sudden death. Cameron Brewer, head of the Newmarket Business Association, said music retailers were urgently requesting more stock. "Music retailers told me that people were literally grabbing what they could. It seems that Thriller and his Greatest Hits went out the door first, followed by literally anything with Michael Jackson's name on it," Mr Brewer said.
At lunch time in Auckland City, office workers and university students of all ages queued outside the Real Groovy store on Queen St. One man bought $550 worth of Michael Jackson music in vinyl. (wonder if it was Mr Collings...hmmmm?)

Westpac, which last month mistakenly transferred $10 million into the account of a Rotorua businessman who is still on the run, has made another big-figure error. Hamilton computer firm Elite Business Systems received a Westpac fax telling them $4.3 million had been transferred into its account on behalf of a client paying a bill. Administration manager Graeme Richer couldn't believe his eyes because the sum owed was just $43,000. (I am so with the wrong bank)

Rock musician Chris Knox has been released from hospital two weeks after suffering a stroke. Knox, 56, was taken to Auckland Hospital after collapsing at his home on June 11. According to a blog, updated by friend Roy Martyn, Knox was allowed to return home this week "apparently in good spirits", The Dominion Post reported. It is understood that he has not been able to speak, although he has been writing in a journal.

The Turangi and Taupo region was shaken by two earthquakes overnight. The first, at 1.01am, had a magnitude of 4.3 and was centred 10km north-west of Turangi at a depth of 3km. The second, at 5.21am, was centred in the same area at a depth of 5km and measured 4.4.

Criminal investigations in Auckland are now codenamed after shades of paint because of fears that an off-colour label could cause offence. Detective Inspector Scott Beard has created a list of codenames for police operations from a Resene paints colour chart. Recent examples include Operation Anakiwa - a shade of blue - in which police laid charges against Glenn Mills, 40, who allegedly deliberately infected sexual partners with HIV.

P Money just Twittered the following: "Damn MJ is killin it on iTunes; 4 songs in the Top 10 singles, 7 albums in the Top 10, 14 videos in top 15!!"

Customs officers yesterday destroyed about $9 million worth of drugs and the chemicals used to make them. About 180kg of Contac NT, a form of pseudoephedrine that is used in the manufacture of P, was encased in concrete and buried in a secret location. It is part of 311kg of drugs products seized by Customs this year. The chemicals were poured into steel drums where they were mixed with concrete and left to set before being placed into deep burial sites that are lined and sealed to prevent leakage. Acting investigations manager Bruce Berry said Customs expected to have seized 1000kg of the chemicals by the end of the year.

The rising number of patients who weigh more than 150kg has forced St John to kit out New Zealand's first emergency ambulance for the severely obese.
Until now, these people have sometimes had to be dragged across the floor before being manhandled into a standard ambulance and strapped down on a mattress on the floor, after the vehicle's two stretchers have been removed. All this takes time, which is scarce in medical emergencies. It is unsafe for both patients and ambulance officers, says St John's Auckland patient transfer manager, Simon Bird, who notes the increasing rate of officers having back problems as the rate of obesity rises.
New Zealand's adult obesity rate has doubled in 30 years: more than a quarter are obese now, and around 3 per cent - more than 60,000 adults - are classified severely obese.

Lisa Marie Presley has written a statement on the passing of Michael Jackson on her Myspace blog. Read Here.

It was to be the comeback of the young century: Michael Jackson using the "This is it" tour to retake his throne as King of Pop, lord of the dance and darling of the masses. What grander stage than London for this late career magic? Jackson's much hyped revival was to be a marathon, 50-gig tour that gave him a shot at redemption - not to mention repairing his tarnished image, lifting him out of debt and making millions for promoters. Eager fans spent more than US$90 ($141.75) million on tickets despite widespread doubts about the pop icon's stamina.
Now the star is dead - and one of the city's biggest arenas has 50 open nights. London, the city that was to be Jackson's launch pad back to glory, has become a symbol of the wreckage of his life.

and if you are interested, one of Michael Jackson's final interviews.

Day FourtyThree of being Aflickionless...

Who would of thought that in 2009 there would be a black man in The White House and one of the biggest entertainers of all time would kick the bucket...and so suddenly. I recieved the news by text just before 11am and I couldn't believe it, I thought it was a joke, so straight away I checked out online news sources and was shocked to see it was true.
I think it's one of those things that you will always remember where you were when you heard the news and always remember how you heard.
The jokes are already flying around too, but more on those later.

Maz had a fairly laid back day, nothing overly exciting. However she did update her Weta profile and applied for a Make-Up Tutor job at Cut Above. No hopes on it, purely because she knows how it goes there.
Maz can't get enough of Little Boots, she really should go out hunting for the album instead of just listening to the music on her Myspace page. Haha!

I'm gonna take you out tonight
I'm gonna make you feel alright
I don't have a lot of money
But we'll be fine
No I don't have a penny
But I'll show you a good time

Maz was hoping to go to National Anthems tomorrow night, she even put her name in early to do photos for it, but no. So looks like another weekend at home.

Update on the life of JayJay! She got home this evening just before the rain started, so no wet shirt show. JayJay spent last night in a hotel room with Nik and they didn't get it on...mainly because his friend was on the other bed, about a 1meter away from them.
JayJay is also over booked this weekend...so much to do, so little time.
Also, Maz is editting a photo for jayjay of a chick flashing her

I totally forgot to mention in the blog the other day, Miss Am
ber Cadaver has a new tattoo (surprise, surprise). It isn't finished, only lined at the moment but man it looks awesome. She is so the "tattooed lady"...almost like crazy cat lady, but not as cool.

Phloss won a trip to Samoa in October from 91ZM's competition "The ZM World Tour".

HE JUST DIED BUT!

Plastic companies are bidding for Michael Jackson's body. They want to melt him down and make toys for little boys to play with.

It is said they are going to turn Michael Jackson into snowflakes for little boys to eat...and so he can come out of their ass one more time.

If Michael gets cremated will his ashes be black or white?

Thanks Phloss

Search and rescue dogs have been brought in to find a person trapped under a collapsed house which has claimed two lives in south Auckland. The men were killed when a digger knocked the house they were working on off its foundations at Manurewa Marae this afternoon.

The Warehouse is offering online shopping, starting with books, DVDs, CDs, gaming software and gift cards. The discount retailer also intends to soon sell jewellery and electronics online.

A Westport couple are selling their six-bedroom historical home on Trade Me - under the beds category - with a reserve of $1. Owners Wayne Saggers and Kathy Wahrlich said they were dead serious about selling their Derby Street home. The house, known as the Stone House, has a QV of $300,000 and is listed with Landmark Real Estate at $370,000. The couple put the house on Trade Me last night. It was listed as a queen sized bed with a free grand old home and guesthouse attached.
