Day EightyThree of being Aflickionless...

After forgetting about yesterdays blog (till stupid o'clock this morning), Maz thought that she better write one for today...I would look like a terrible friend if I forgot two days in a row.

Lots of pictures and random stuff to fill up todays blog. Why you may ask? BECAUSE I CAN!!! Lets see where to start. Maz has work on Legend of the Seeker tomorrow, starting at 6am...ewwwww!!! But at least she is back on there so she can take in her portfolio to show the make-up people.
The battle for the chair has resumed between Maz & Florida. Maz believes that she will be "VICKTORYASS" this time.

The other day it was posted that the Space Invaders shoes had been finished and FINALLY we bring you the photos!!!

and yes we know what you think...your shoes are still WAY COOLER!

CardboardLove.com is Maz's great find of the day (thanks to Kaine). They have a lot of sappy "I love you" written on cardboard on there, but a few of them either made me giggle or think of you...awwww...haha! Then I got sick of seeing all the sappy stuff so left the site...amazes me that chicks like that awww stuff.

Biosecurity scientists are examining whether there is a link between large numbers of fish being washed ashore and illnesses and deaths to dogs that have visited Auckland beaches. One dog died last month after being taken to Browns Bay beach, while there was a second fatality this week from another North Shore location, Cheltenham Beach. Biosecurity New Zealand today said it was investigating unusually large numbers of pilchards washing up on beaches further north, near Whangaparaoa Peninsula and Martins Bay.

An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale hit Fiordland this afternoon. It was part of a series that have rattled the region since a 7.8 Richter magnitude earthquake - the biggest in the world this year - hit last month. The latest quake hit 100km west of Te Anau at 4.25pm at a depth of 5km, GNS Science said.

A Hamilton man has been taken to hospital after an explosion at a gas
cylinder company today. Waikato Hospital spokeswoman Mary Anne Gill said the man was servicing an oxygen gas bottle when the explosion happened.

Kiwi men are not doing enough around the house to win over their wives and partners, new research suggests, but we are still doing better than our transtasman cousins. New Zealand ranked ninth-equal out of 13 countries in an Oxford University study that examined how people become more attractive to the opposite sex by helping out with the household chores and looking after the children. Swedish men topped the table as most attractive in terms of pulling their weight around the house, while Australians - perhaps preoccupied by their great loves of beer and sport - came in last. (looks like I needs me a Swedish man...haha)

SIDESWIPPING IT...
A bid to set a world record for the number of women being photographed wearing bikinis in one place failed, after only 42 of the 1924 turned up. A poor weather forecast in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, was blamed for the disappointing turnout.

Day SixtyOne of being Aflickionless...

hmmmm...it's raining again and blogger is being a bit of an arse. Surprised? No. Well I'm not either.

Maz was meant to get some clear nail polish tonight, but ended up with two new t-shirts, two pairs of heels and a New Moon poster (as well as nail polish), she thinks she might have a wee problem.
In more productive news, Maz finished the cookie & doughnut pendants today and has also going to be getting interviewed for the North Shore Times about body art. Awesome huh?

An Auckland Prison visitor has been arrested after trying to smuggle in drugs and a cellphone in his shoes. The man was visiting the prison with a woman yesterday when a search revealed the contraband, prison manager Kelly Puohotaua said. "On the female visitor we found a cellphone, brand new, that she had no idea how to use ," he said. "The male visitor was picked up by the metal detector on his way to being searched, indicating an object possibly concealed in his shoes. "Staff began the rub down search and could strongly smell glue. The inner sole and outer heel of each of his shoes had been removed and cannabis and a cellphone packed inside them, before they were glued back together." The man was detained by staff until police arrived, arresting him and cautioning the woman.

Healthcare lobbyists have criticised the Government's funding cuts in the face of a report showing New Zealand is the third fattest nation in the developed world. They fear disease and complications caused by obesity will lead to higher healthcare costs in the future. The Health Care Data 2009 report, by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, focused on 30 nations. Of those that reported on weight issues, all showed they were getting fatter. The obesity rate among adults in New Zealand in 2007 was 26.5 per cent. This compared with figures reported the previous year by the United States at 34.3 per cent and Mexico at 30 per cent.

Giving Maori title over the seabed and foreshore could result in charges for commercial recreational activities, such as surfing or surfcasting competitions, says a controversial legal academic. David Round, a law lecturer at the University of Canterbury, said that if any form of title was given to Maori - or anyone other than the Crown - it was likely iwi could charge for any commercial use of that area.

Television and film producer John Barnett supports the concept of a super city but doesn't want the film industry to be its first casualty. He fears that might happen if diversity or suburban identities disappear under a bland, single-brand Auckland Council. Barnett says he is concerned the "holistic" environment in Waitakere city for the film industry, where his company South Pacific Pictures is based, might be affected by local government reorganisation.

Day FiftyOne of being Aflickionless...

Hmmmm Cirque du Soleil is back in town and the school holidays have come around again. Okay is it just me or does it seem like they are always on holiday?

Maz is off to see Transformers tonight (will either update after the movie, or it will be in tomorrows blog). UPDATED: Okay so Maz WAS meant to go see Transformers tonight, BUT after getting there and putting in the order her card decided it wouldn't read. Even tried the ATM and it wouldn't read...FUCKIN RAAAA!!! Russell had her card in his jacket, so Maz is thinking his keys scratched it to fuck (even though they were in the pocket infront). So now she has to manually withdraw money till she gets her new card.
Maz is also regreting have such big flippers after looking at shoes on TradeMe, why are all the cute or cool ones for little feet? She is in love with the two pairs of shoe below, BUT they are both size 7

However, she also kinda wishes her feet were bigger (see shoes below)

Besides drooling over shoes, Maz has also been working on a new painting. Below is the first look at it, titled "Opps, I threw up custard"

A couple of infrequent visitors to New Zealand waters were spotted off Auckland's Milford Beach this week. Steve Barham photographed this southern right whale (Eubalaena australis) and her calf on their way to Whangaparaoa.

When fully grown, it could measure up to 18m and tip the scales at 117 tonnes. The calf could live up to 70 years.
