It's not even midday yet and I have figured today will be a non-event, so might as well get the blog done now (which also means there could be a bit of an edit done later in the day or as/if stuff happens).
It's a another beautiful winters day here in Auckland! More than likely this can't continue for much long, so be expecting rain in the next few days or by the end of the week (come on it's Auckland).
Notice the new "feature" on the left of the page? Yup, that is a slideshow of your photos on Flickr!
Last night while at Ginger Minx, Hez noticed that if you turn the "Oh Hai" sign up sidedown it says "IAH HO" (I AH HO...get it). She also go to try out different seating spots than the usual (table by fire, seat in back corner and the couch), yes we were seating sluts last night...haha.
Maz and Russell were woken by screaming and yelling children this morning...so not cool. Currently Maz wishes she had her back-pack, because right now she wants to pack it and leave...but how is she meant to pack her shit if she ain't got no bag.
It's still undecided if Maz is going to end updoing NZ Body Art Awards 2009. She has until Thursday to do and hand in her concept designs. Will she do it? Fuck knows.
A huge fire has erupted in the west Auckland suburb of Henderson, in an industrial complex.
Fire communications confirmed there was a large fire in Rabone Street. The building on fire is owned by a furnishings company called Ultimate Finishes. A local church has been evacuated with some churchgoers unable to reach their cars.
Flames have been seen from as far away as Beachhaven on the North Shore and in Westmere.
A chilling, graphic road safety campaign hitting screens today aims to send young people an "unashamedly strong" message about drink-driving. The "Trapped" television commercial features two young men in a ute that crashes on a rural road. The driver survives, but he is left trapped in the vehicle with the body of his dead friend staring lifelessly at him. (don't they always say the ads are graphic?)
The Zion Wildlife Gardens in Whangarei re-opened yesterday with a bizarre incentive for visitors - to come and feed the tigers. The troubled centre was shut down by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry last month, after keeper Dalu Mncube was mauled to death by a tiger. But yesterday, the incident appeared a distant memory as dozens of visitors were allowed to feed some of the park's 40 tigers through a fence. Zoo fix-it man Tim Husband insisted the feeding was safe, saying none of the visitors was put at risk.
A sexually provocative ad campaign for a clothing company co-owned by Rich Lister Eric Watson is under fire for being too "pornographic". The Australian television ads for American Apparel feature half-naked women, many of them staff from the Melbourne store, writhing around in bed and exposing their breasts. The ad is under investigation by the Advertising Standards Bureau in Australia. (uptight Aussies)
