We've made it to DAY 40! YEH BOI!
Maz spent the day standing in a paddock out in Muriwai, raising her hand in the air. Hard work huh? And no it wasn't about tractors or cows. Last night Maz submitted her design for the Van's Warpped Tour competition that they are running on C4 (of course you've seen the design). Fingers and toes crossed.
The photo "Piha: III" that was posted here recently has had 4 votes so far. Yay! But still nowhere near enough to get into the magazine.

Waitakere Mayor Bob Harvey is calling for a new public holiday in July. He wants it to mark Matariki, or Maori New Year, celebrations. "I think we need a mid-winter fun event and this of course is in the Maori calendar but it's our calendar too," Mr Harvey told TV3. "Let's go and have a ripper of the weekend in July...I think we need something in the middle of winter, as a nation, to cheer us up." He said Waitangi was a serious occasion and it would be good to have a light-hearted day that was unique to New Zealand.
Bodyguards have been employed to protect Wellington Mayor Kerry Prendergast after she received physical threats. The suspect made an "abusive and threatening" call to the council call centre on Friday afternoon, police said.
A stalemate over privatising prisons has put the government's plans to double-bunk more prisoners in jeopardy, forcing it to resort to other measures such as using shipping containers as cells instead. However, the prison officers' union has withheld its permission for the plan, saying it wants the government to provide an assurance it will not privatise prisons first.
Budget airline Jetstar has been accused of treating passengers like "dirty rags" after closing its check-in gates to at least eight ticket-holders on a flight from Auckland to Wellington.
Big Wednesday's biggest draw - a $30 million jackpot of cash and prizes - will definitely go to at least one ticketholder tomorrow night. And while the winner, or winners, will probably want to share the wealth with family and friends, such generosity can be taxed.

DAILY FOF MOMENT
Matt went to work this morning (at 10am, not 6.30am), found a carpark, jumped out, looked down and realised "OOPS, I'm wearing my DC's. Not my work boots". So had to drive all the way home, get his work boots and then go back to work. FAIL! Matt's having a great week!
