Day EightySix of being Aflickionless...

Maz worked today...YES on a Saturday! From work it was off home to shower off the dirt, then time to head into Ginger Minx.

Ginger Minx hosted Offshore Days and man it was nuts. That place got THRASHED!!! People dancing on coffee tables, girls being way too drunk...totally different crowd.

TELETHON 09: Three-quarters of the 57,000 children in New Zealand's poorest 10 per cent of schools are now receiving food from charities, with growing waiting lists as the recession throws more parents out of work. A 23-hour telethon on TV3 this weekend - New Zealand's first telethon in 16 years - aims to raise about $2 million to help the charity KidsCan reach 32,000 children on its waiting list for food, shoes and raincoats.

The dole queue lengthened by another 4417 people last month, forcing the Government to hire an extra 300 Work and Income staff to cope with the growing numbers.

A racist attack on a Fijian-Indian student at a Christchurch school was not isolated, the student's mother says. Mohammed Akif, 15, suffered a cracked cheekbone, chipped tooth, cut to the head and bruised ribs when he was set upon by other students on Tuesday, The Press reported. He arrived in Christchurch only three weeks ago to join his mother, who had a two-year work permit. (oh come on it's Christchurch what do you expect?)

A website commemorating the 28 Maori Battalion has been launched. The website includes archive photographs, video and an interactive map of the battles the battalion took part in during World War Two. The site is also interactive and includes a function for families to add the experiences of veterans. Check it out here.
